The Alchemist

This is a very short book that reads like fairytale or fable and has a strong moral to it, without being pushy or didactic. Its about spanish sheperd boy, who told by a fortune teller to follow his heart.

Consequently, he sells his sheep n sets off for north africa to find his treasure, but eventually he falls in love and ends up back he started, in spain, with his true love.

I have already read this book both in english and indonesian, there are many sentences that i really luv to read and think.

… the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart; it was love. … and when two such people encounter each other and their eyes meet, the past and the future become unimportant.

It’s not what enters men’s mouths that’s evil; It’s what comes out of their mouths that is.

Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.

Fatima is a woman of the desert; She knows that men have to go away in order to return. And she already has her treasure: it’s you. Now she expects that you will find what it is you’re looking for.

You must understand that love never keeps a man from pursuing his destiny. If he abandons that pursuit, it’s because it wasn’t true love… the love that speaks the Language of the World.

You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it’s better to listen to what it has to say. That way, you’ll never have to fear an unanticipated blow.

Wherever your heart is, that is where you’ll find your treasure.

One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving.

Trust in your love…

The message is that yous should always follow your heart and that we all make our own fate

Truly it was a great book; I've found that its a great book to recommend to friends who are worried or on the brink of making a big decision.
